Publication Ethics

The ISAIME is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring every published manuscript's integrity, originality, and quality. We adhere to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and emphasize transparency and academic integrity throughout publication. Additionally, as a mandatory requirement, all submitted papers must first be presented at the ISAIME conference, organized annually by members of BKS-TM, before being considered for publication.

Responsibilities of Authors

  1. Originality and Plagiarism

    • Authors must ensure their manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere.
    • Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
  2. Authorship

    • Only individuals who contributed significantly to the research and manuscript preparation should be listed as authors.
    • All authors must approve the final version before submission.
  3. Research Integrity

    • Authors must present their research findings accurately and transparently, without data manipulation or falsification.
    • Proper citation and acknowledgment of data sources and methodologies are required.
  4. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

    • Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation.
  5. Presentation Requirement at ISAIME Conference

    • Before submission to the ISAIME, all papers must be presented at the annual ISAIME conference organized by BKS-TM members.
    • Authors must provide proof of presentation when submitting their manuscripts for proceedings or journal publication.

Responsibilities of Editors

  1. Publication Decisions

    • Editors are responsible for selecting manuscripts for publication based on their academic merit and the peer-review process results.
  2. Confidentiality

    • Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not use them for personal purposes.
  3. Fair and Objective Assessment

    • Editorial decisions must be based solely on the manuscript’s quality and relevance, without discrimination based on race, gender, institutional affiliation, or other biases.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Objectivity and Constructive Feedback

    • Reviewers should provide objective and constructive evaluations to help improve the quality of submitted manuscripts.
  2. Confidentiality

    • Manuscripts under review must be kept confidential and not be used for personal advantage.
  3. Detection of Ethical Violations

    • Reviewers should report any suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns to the editorial board.

Sanctions for Ethical Violations

Violations of ISAIME publication ethics, including plagiarism, data manipulation, or failure to comply with the conference presentation requirement, will result in appropriate sanctions. These may include rejection of the manuscript, retraction of a published article, or a ban on future submissions.

By adhering to these ethical guidelines, ISAIME aims to maintain academic excellence and contribute to advancing mechanical engineering research.
